Flash games are becoming ever more popular, but as more and more games are being published on the net, sifting through the dirge to find the great games is becoming harder and harder. Top help you out, here are three of the best Flash games of all time.
Crush The Castle. Choosing the first game for this list was easy - Crush The Castle is easily one of the most addictive and entertaining browser games of the past few years. Like most great game, its very simple with the aim of the game simply to fire ammo at a castle with a trebuchet (like a catapult) in an attempt to knock it down and progress to the next level. The controls couldn't be simpler - press the mouse button once to fire, and a second time to release (aiming is done by timing the swing). As you progress through the levels you'll get more advanced ammo such as bigger rocks and bombs, and you'll need to carefully choose the right ammo to strategically defeat some of the later levels. When you eventually manage to get through every level don't fret, there is a sequal known as the "players pack" which gives you a ton of new castles to try your skills against!
Bloons. This is another great game, with very simple but addictive gameplay. Your aim is to burst balloons by throwing darts at them, and while that sounds easy the devilish level designs mean that it takes immense skill and judgment to beat all 50 levels of the game. Each level gives you a set number of darts, and you'll encounter obstacles and special balloons types along the way, but you'll also pick up special darts and powerups to help you in your quest. Bloons is a great game, but the best thing is that there are a number of great sequels, many of which are just as good as the original.
Grow Cube. Now this is a strange game, but one that had to be on the list none the less. It doesn't fit easily into any of the usual categories, but I guess it's a puzzle game. The idea is to grow the "cube" by pressing the ten buttons in the right order, which makes all sorts of things happen depending on your previous inputs. Now that might not sound like a lot of fun, but believe me when I say that you really need to play this game to understand how good it is. You see, unlike Crush The Castle and Bloons, this isn't a game of skill, rather the joy comes from watching how your small inputs affect the cube and everything in it. The cube becomes its own little world, and you'll love watching it grow and unfold. Its a game that really can't be adequately described in words, so do yourself a favour and go and play it!
